“Development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
The WHAT?
Our credo is: offering a smart solution to an existing market need, keeping the trade-offs to their lowest possible. Beside economic viability we consider environmental integrity, social equity and governance. As a company who builds on the labour of the first Polder inhabitants in Flevoland, our intention is to pass the relay further.
The WHY?
The ever growing population defies commonly accepted business paradigm. ‘Doing business as usual’ doesn’t only endanger future generations, it already creates havoc in the present through irrecuperable losses in biodiversity, exorbitant amounts of unsorted garbage on landfills, rivers and oceans, PFAS leakage etc.
The HOW?
At Heynen Systems, we take care of our impact at every step. And, when we know better, we do better.
The company comprises of 2 departments: knitting and machine building. Together, they form a system.
Our in-house knitted interliner is a highly elastic mono-material, non-dyed, and applicable without adhesive, thus, easy to recycle. We also provide knitting from recycled yarn, which ensures total circularity. Currently, we are testing degradable yarn made of biomass instead.
Tricover machines – are built from high quality, reliable standard components for easy disassembly and spare part replacement. It uses aluminium that doesn’t need coating or painting and thus can be reused endless times.
People – as a member of the MITT Collective Labour Agreement, our company guarantees i.a.:
equal employing opportunities, same working conditions and fair remuneration without gender bias, collective pension scheme, automatic wage inflation adjustment, regulated working hours, healthy and safe working environment, etc.
In addition we compensate commuting and organise annual team building activities during working hours.
Offering paid internships, integrating differently abled people in our team and participating in the local charitable events, make our work even more meaningful.
Planet – to obtain a sustainable product, we made use of smart energy, lean manufacturing, waste management, preference for local employees, etc.
To substantiate our claims we use the Milieu barometer that factually traces the environmental impact of an organisation across a spectrum of sustainability indicators.
Governance – We have a traceable accounting system and accept third parties audits. As a proponent of a fair market, we adopted international standards early on.
(ISO 9001:2015, OekoTex 100, Global Recycling Standard) Certifications guarantee a level playing field and supply chain transparency that lead eventually to a global digital economy.
